The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), in collaboration with our arts partners Arts Ed NJ and the Art Educators of New Jersey, wishes to express a hearty thank you to all of our students who answered our call to submit their individual expressions of hope, healing, and resilience through the COVID-19 pandemic. Students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade statewide submitted more than 1,400 works of art in response to the showcase call for submissions. This site contains the art of Academy 1 students received from across New Jersey. The original art is based on the individual student’s interpretation of the theme: Hope, Healing and Resilience through the COID-19 Pandemic. Students were encouraged to submit one original piece of two-dimensional art that conveyed a positive message of hope, healing, and resilience.
